So far, the Defense and Health Ministries as well as relevant agencies have received Vietnamese citizens from China and other nCoV-affected countries. They have isolated more than 570 people and tightened control of travel at border gates and border crossings. Hoang Dang Nhieu, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, said that inspection is performed before customs clearance.

“The High Command of the Border Guards has worked closely with military units nationwide, especially northern provinces and those with border gates. We have ordered to shut down border crossings following the order of the Ministry of defense and the government,” he said.

The Department of Customs has set up  groups in border provinces of Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Dien Bien to support import-export activities.
