Tran Ngoc Thach, Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Information and Communications Department, said the award recognizes the city’s efforts to make Da Nang a ‘smart’ urban area.

Thach said the Smart City Award is based on indexes of happiness, smart infrastructure, online public services, economic growth, education, and development research.

The award gives Da Nang an opportunity to work with regional smart city partners to build a smart city that deals effectively with local economic and social realities.

Da Nang was one of eight out of 24 members of the ASOCIO to receive a smart city award this year.
