(VOVworld) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan has asked Da Nang to establish a steering committee for a smart city building project and focus on developing local infrastructures and services.

At a working session with Da Nang City’s leaders on Tuesday, Mr. Nhan said that the “smart city” project is an optimal solution for urban development in many countries.

Da Nang is the first to build a “smart city” in Vietnam. It has taken the lead in the readiness index for IT application and development for 7 consecutive years. So far, Da Nang has built its e-government system, set up an integrated public information center, and provided free wifi services.
