Mr. Hue told a Vietnam-Czech business forum in Hanoi on Tuesday that the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement to take effect in 2018 will open huge opportunities for both Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

"Vietnam wants to foster multi-faceted cooperation with the Czech Republic. We look forward to Czech investment in energy, mining, infrastructure, transportation, mechanics, environmental industry, defense industry, vocational training, and hospital equipment," Mr. Hue said.

President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman, who is on a visit to Vietnam, emphasized the huge potential for bilateral cooperation including the 65 thousand Vietnamese people in the country.

"I value the Vietnamese community who are hard-working and have greatly contributed to the Czech’s development. Vietnamese people living here are considered a minority group in the Czech and enjoy full citizens’ rights. The number of Vietnamese students in the Czech is also on the rise. All these factors will help boost our cooperation," he noted.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of seven MoUs and cooperative agreements in health, agriculture, construction, and engineering.
