(VOVworld) – A culture and tourism week featuring cultural identities of ethnic groups in the M’Nong plateau is underway in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong as part of the 2014 National Tourism Year.

(VOVworld) – A culture and tourism week featuring cultural identities of ethnic groups living in the M’nong plateau is underway in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong as part of the 2014 National Tourism Year. After the opening ceremony, visitors were treated to performances of the M’nong people’s gong, folk songs, and dances. Artisans showcased their traditional rituals to worship the Genies to welcome the New Year and bracelet giving ritual to pray for good health.

Luan Thi Kieu is a visitor from the northern province of Quang Ninh: “This is the first time I have ever attended a traditional festival of the Central Highlanders. It impressed me a lot. I hope for more similar activities to preserve the culture of the Central Highlands and promote the solidarity among regional ethnic groups.”

The event will last until Sunday.
