In an interview with Telesur network on Monday, he criticized the US economic blockade on Cuba, terming it "the main obstacle to the development of Cuba." President Miguel said Havana still maintains an open channel of dialogue but it must be between equals.

He also confirmed that Cuba was not involved in any alleged attacks against diplomats at the US Embassy in Havana.
