On Wednesday, Vietnam reported 14,189 more recoveries and 250 deaths, raising the total recoveries to 412,650 and death toll 16,186.
Vietnam’s caseload hit 645,640, ranking 47 of 222 countries and territories. The country ranked 156 of 222 countries and territories with the ratio of infections per 1 million people (on average, there are 6,562 infections for every 1 million people).
Hanoi has almost controlled the disease as community cases reduced in the last three weeks thanks to large-scale screening tests and 1st dose vaccine coverage of city population.
The Hanoi People's Committee on Wednesday issued a dispatch on the adjustment of COVID-19 measures. Accordingly, from 12 noon on Thursday, districts that have not recorded community infections over the past two weeks will be allowed to resume operations of businesses such as stationery, books, equipment, school supplies, repair services of vehicles, electronic and home appliances. Food and beverage services will resume take-out service and must close before 9 p.m. daily.
