COVID-19 vaccination to ready students for new school year

(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister has issued directives to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination for children over five, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Ms. Huong said that as of September 5, Vietnam had administered more than 257 million COVID-19 vaccine doses and is now one of the countries with the widest vaccination coverage.

She said vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect children's health, strengthen their immunity against COVID-19, minimize their risk of serious illness and death, and get them ready for the new school year.
