(VOVworld) - The Court of Appeal on Friday upheld the the two-and-a half year sentence and a 4 million riel (U.S. $976) fine the Phnom Penh Municipal Court gave Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) lawmaker Um Sam An for inciting discrimination and inciting social instability.

Presiding Judge Seng Sivutha, in upholding the lower court’s October 10 verdict, said the CNRP lawmaker’s posts critical of the government’s demarcation of the country’s frontier with Vietnam caused chaos and insecurity in society.
