The event had been scheduled for between 1 and 12 November this year, but was delayed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

COP26 will be the most important round of talks since the Paris Agreement to tackle climate change was reached in 2015.

This year marks the date by which countries are expected to announce stronger emissions cuts to meet their 2015 commitments.
