Earlier on Saturday, many delegates and environmentalists attending the COP 19th criticized Japan for slashing its goal for green house gas emissions by 2020. Japan announced it would aim for a 3.8-per cent cut in emissions by 2020 over 2005 levels, replacing an earlier goal to cut them by 25 per cent from 1990 levels, according to a report released the same day by Japanese Chief Cabinet Secreatary Yoshihide Suga.
