(VOV) – “The connection of love in Vietnamese families” is the theme of this year’s Vietnam Family Festival that will take place in Hanoi next week.

A ceremony to celebrate Vietnam Family Day will be held at the Opera House on June 28. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event will mark the special Day on June 28 and is also in response to the Vietnam Year of Family 2013. The festival will feature a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, cultural exchanges and art performances. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Huynh Vinh Ai, said: "The Prime Minister chose the year 2013 as the Vietnam Year of Family. The Government and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have instructed all localities to mount practical activities in response including meetings, workshops, exhibitions and cooking contests to highlight the traditional importance of the family".

The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also hold a ceremony to honour outstanding cultural families among local ethnic minorities.
