(VOV) - Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh cabled a letter of congratulation to John Kerry on his appointment as the next US Secretary of State.
With 94 votes for and three against, the US Senate on January 29 ratified President Barack Obama’s nomination, appointing John Kerry to succeed Hillary Clinton who ends her office term on February 1.
Kerry, who has been a senator for 28 years, received bipartisan support for the post.
