Conference promotes economic corridor cooperation between Vietnamese, Chinese localities

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang stressed that Vietnam considers cooperation between localities an important component in the strategic cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Mr. Quang was speaking at the 10th Economic Corridor Cooperation Conference between four Vietnamese cities and provinces, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and China’s Yunnan province, held in Hanoi on Monday.

Over the past time, the Vietnamese Party and State have promoted many policies to create favorable conditions for localities in the North to develop enhanced and sustainable cooperation with Chinese localities, Mr. Quang said.

He added that the two countries are currently enjoying healthy opportunities to promote Economic Corridor Cooperation between five Vietnamese and Chinese cities and provinces.

“Unceasing efforts should be made to strengthen the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. It is crucial to enhance the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, coupled with joint research and exchange, to establish frameworks and new cooperation models that suit the development potentials, advantages, conditions and development priorities of the two sides’ localities,” said Mr. Quang.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo is ready to work with Vietnam to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership and elevate ties between the two Parties and countries to a new height.

“China is accelerating the building of a development structure while Vietnam is pushing up the process of industrialization and modernization. Bilateral cooperation is complementary and is full of potential,” he said.
