The North Korea's KCNA news agency reported on Thursday that North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Jong-gyu and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Yurievich Rudenko signed a protocol on the exchange of ratification documents.
According to Article 22 of the treaty, the “North Korea-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty” officially replaces the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation signed on February 9, 2000.
The treaty stipulates that the two sides maintain and develop a comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of respect for national sovereignty and territorial inviolability, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and other relevant principles of international law such as friendly relations and cooperation between countries, in accordance with each country's laws and international obligations.
