“This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival will lay a foundation for organizing more ways for visitors to explore the Hue Royal Citadel at night and develop the night-time economy of Thua Thien-Hue province,” Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said.

The Hue lantern festival will continue through Saturday, recreating the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration of ancient times.

In Phan Thiet city, 2,300 pupils participated in a great lantern parade and lion dances. The Phan Thiet lantern parade has been recognized as the largest of its kind in Vietnam by the Vietnam Book of Records.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has presented Mid-Autumn gifts and scholarships worth more than 15 million USD to 6 million Vietnamese children.
