(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh received Citygroup CEO Michael Corbat in Hanoi on Friday. He expressed pleasure at foreign investors including Citygroup choosing Vietnam as an investment destination. He said he supports Citygroup to expand its operations in Vietnam, contributing to investment and trade ties between Vietnam and the US and motivating other major foreign groups to invest in Vietnam.

Citygroup CEO Michael Corbat praised Vietnam’s achievements in stabilizing the macro-economy, equitizing state-owned enterprises, restructuring the economy, and simplifying administrative procedures to create a favorable business and investment environment. He pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in personnel training in finance, banking, and regional and global economic consultations to aid the government’s policy-making.
