Talking to a VOV reporter in Beijing on Friday, he affirmed that the article made him fully confident in the future development of Vietnam. Mr. Wang is Executive Director of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at the Renmin University of China and a permanent member of the World Socialism Research Center at China’s Academy of Sciences.

He said he is especially impressed with the analysis of "national independence associated with socialism" in the article and called this "theoretical creativity" when dialectically unifying the relationship between socialism and national independence and self-determination.

“Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made a very insightful presentation. If a socialist country wants to develop well, it must first have a foundation of national independence. The foundation of national independence and self-determination will promote the development of socialism. This dialectical relationship is worth our reference, and at the same time worth the reference of emerging economies around the world. Vietnam has made very steady and progressive steps in developing Marxist theory and promoting socialism construction. This is also something that China and Vietnam should learn from each other, as well as for Chinese scholars like us to ponder.”

The Chinese scholar said he hopes Vietnam and China, as two socialist countries and promising economies with leading growth rates in the world, will unite, cooperate, and enhance mutual trust, to jointly embrace opportunities and overcome challenges on the path to socialism.
