Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, other Chinese leaders and 2,085 delegates attended the closing session at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting. He affirmed the achievements that China and the CPPCC have recorded after 75 years of establishment, and emphasized the key tasks for this year. China adheres to the common goal of stable development, smooth combination of Party leadership, united front and democratic consultation, and is determined to advance Chinese-style modernization, he said.

After the closing session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the second session of the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, will conclude on Monday. These two annual sessions, one of China's biggest political events of the year, will come to a close, with the whole country focusing on delivering the socio-economic development goals set out at the two sessions.
