(VOVworld) –  Chinese President Xi Jinping talked by telephone with US President Donald Trump on Friday to discuss bilateral ties in various fields, marking their first conversation since Trump took office in January.

President Xi said that the US wished to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, energy, people exchange, and international issues to ensure global peace. President Trump committed to honoring the “One China” policy. The two leaders agreed to maintain close relations between the two countries and wished to hold managerial meetings soon.
