China, Russia increase cooperative ties

(VOVWORLD) - Chinese President Xi Jinping said China and Russia should enhance efforts to establish closer strategic coordination to uphold the basic norms governing international relations, while safeguarding their respective sovereignty and security, and jointly creating a fair and just international environment.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the 11th BRICS summit in Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, on Wednesday, President Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the strength and potential of the ties between their countries and called for maintaining the momentum gained by increased relations.

Putin said both sides should continue to enhance bilateral ties for a new era, while supporting each other in sovereignty issues, security, and development. Russia will enhance trade ties with China in industry, agriculture, aerospace, aviation, energy, finance, petroleum, and people to people exchange.
