He made the remarks at a press conference following a meeting of the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Russia, Britain, Iran and China, the first of its kind since US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Wang said participants at the meeting have pledged to continue to abide by and implement the JCPOA, oppose unilateral sanctions that violate international laws, and effectively safeguard the international non-proliferation regime. Wang said over the Iran nuclear issue, China upholds a five-point approach which stated that the international rules should be observed, the JCPOA should be implemented earnestly, stability in the Middle East should be maintained, unilateral sanctions should be abandoned, and dialogues and consultations should be highlighted.
