At present, Vietnam has 246 planting area codes and 97 packaging facility codes that fully meet the requirements to export products to the Chinese market.
Durian represents a fruit of high economic value, with the fruit being forecast to become an export item worth billions of dollars this year.
Furthermore, China remains the world's largest durian consumption market and opened for Vietnamese durian from last September. Since then, the price of domestic durian in the nation has continuously increased, ranging from between 160,000 VND and 200,000 VND per kilo.
At present, the durian growing area has been expanded in many localities nationwide. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has warned growers to cater to suitable ecological, climatic, and soil conditions as a means of ensuring productivity and the quality of durian.
