Economic cooperation between China and ASEAN in the 10 years of their strategic partnership and the 10th China-ASEAN trade fair provided the theme of a press conference held by the Chinese State Council Information Office (SCIO) on Tuesday. Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Gao Yan said that in the last 10 years, trade cooperation between two sides has seen remarkable achievements. Trade turnover increased from 55 billion USD in 2002 to more than 400 billion USD in 2012- a 22% annual growth rate. China-ASEAN investment cooperation over the last 10 years surpassed 70 billion USD. The number of Chinese tourists visiting ASEAN in 2012 was 73.2 million people, nearly tripling the 2002 figure, and making China ASEAN’s 2nd largest tourist provider.
