The Vietnamese Association for Victims of AO/dioxin (VAVA) said the annual program helps people understand the consequences of AO/dioxin and calls on domestic and international organizations to help AO victims ease their pain and improve their lives.

Major General Tran Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the VAVA’s chapter in HCM City, said that this year’s activities are much more diverse than in previous years. These activities aim to urge the United States to take responsibility for the consequences of the war in Vietnam and restore the rights of the victims of Agent Orange, he said.

The Vietnamese Association for Victims of AO/dioxin launched a messaging program called "Joining hands to alleviate the pain of Agent Orange", awarded the insignia "For Victims of Agent Orange" to outstanding individuals in Ho Chi Minh City, presented 20 savings books worth 400 USD each to AO victims, and granted scholarships to children and grandchildren of AO/dioxin victims.
