Central Public Security Party Committee convenes mid-year conference

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a member of the CPSPC’s standing board, sent his message to the event, giving directive guidance and suggesting key points for discussion.

In his message, outlining directions and tasks for the second half of 2024, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized the need to strengthen solutions to protect national security. He noted that preparations for party congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress are being urgently made.

The upcoming 10th Plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee will discuss and provide opinions on many important contents. The Party leader requested the police force to firmly grasp the situation, effectively protect the Party's ideological foundation, ensure internal political security, and safeguard personnel.

He called for the coordination of measures to protect national security, effective handling of potential complications, and effective solutions to prevent risks and challenges from cyberspace.

Attending the conference, President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who are both members of the CPSPC’s standing board, commended the notable achievements of the CPSPC and the Ministry of Public Security in recent times.

President To Lam urged the CPSPC to continue effectively steering strategic advisory tasks and national security protection and crime prevention efforts.

The President emphasized the promotion of Project 06 to contribute to national digital transformation and administrative reform, improvement of the effectiveness of state management of security and order, and expansion of international integration in security.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the Central Public Security Party Committee to proactively grasp and forecast the situation accurately, and promptly advise the Party and the State on policies and solutions that align with global developments.

Chinh highlighted the need to improve the legal system, participate in institution building, effectively carry out the prevention and combating of crime, negativity, and corruption, and strengthen the state management of security and order.
