(VOVworld) – Representatives of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) met on December 31 to discuss the agenda for high-level talks.

CNRP leader Sam Rainsy and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Kheng, who is a CPP senior member, agreed to form working groups to prepare for the talks, but the date for such a meeting has not been decided. CNRP Deputy President Kem Sokha said the talks will also see the participation of social civil organizations and they would only debate a new election.
