(VOVworld) – Companies in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on Tuesday, the 3rd day of Lunar New Year, resume their operations. In 2013, local businesses seek to diversify goods, boost processing of products of added value and expand export markets. Ly Van Thuan, Secretary General of Ca Mau Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters, said: “Businesses should concentrate on solving the problem of material shortages, processing of value-added products, reducing prices and increasing shrimp output.”

More than 1,200 ships set sail for fishing on the first day of the Lunar New Year, the right season for fishing with output doubling usual figure. Luu Minh Nhan, Chairman of the Tran Van Thoi District’s People’s Committee, said local authorities give priorities to developing offshore fleets and re-organizing fishermen who go fishing and help safeguard sea security. Ca Mau province’s total seafood output reaches 350,000 tons and its export revenue tops 1 billion USD.
