Uong Chu Luu, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and current Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee, said, “We need to change the perception of people, especially the younger generation, of what peace means.”

“Today, in addition to national independence, territorial sovereignty, security, and defense, peace implies a broader meaning, which is a sustainable environment, human security, a just, civilized and harmonious society, and a humane lifestyle for each person. This is the message of peace delivered by the United Nations,” said Luu.
