Johnson said reopening schools is important to the students, adding that the UK is ready to enter the next phase of the fight against COVID-19.
“As part of step 2, we set up plans for a phased reopening of schools, because the education of our children is crucial for their welfare, their health, their long-term future, and for social justice."
"And so, in line with the approach being taken in many other countries, we will start getting our children back into the classroom in a way that is as manageable and as safe as possible,” said Mr. Johnson.
Some localities have said they will not reopen their primary schools until June 15.
