(VOVworld) – A spokesperson of British Prime Minister’s Office said on Friday that British pilots were carrying out air strikes on IS targets in Syria and Prime Minister David Cameron was informed about the incident.

More than 10 British pilots took part in the strikes since September, 2014, although in 2013 the British parliament voted to refuse British involvement in military activities in Syria.
Details of the involvement of British personnel in Syrian strikes was kept from the public – and revealed only following a Freedom of Information request by the pressure group Reprieve. Speaker of Lower House John Bercow is expected to release an emergency statement requiring ministers to explain whether they breached a parliament resolution.
