Brazilian police reported that 2,000 people in Brasilia and hundreds of others in Rio de Janeiro demonstrated peacefully to support Rousseff’s Presidency. But in Sao Paolo, police used tear gas to disperse a crowd of violent supporters, who blocked the Paulista Avenue with burning tires and trash.
The impeachment trial began last Thursday and will conclude on Wednesday. The trial is being presided over by Ricardo Lewandowski, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
