Keihan Electric Railway Corporation received a telephone call warning that there would be an explosion at Sanjo Station in Kyoto in an hour. At the request of the Kyoto Prefectural Police, the company shut the station.
Similar bomb threats were also aimed at Shiga and Hiroshima prefectures. Railway stations and ferries were blockaded for the police to search for the explosives.
None was found but the police are still searching for the person who delivered the threat.
