According to KCNA, Mr. Xi’s message was a reply to a letter Mr. Kim sent to the Chinese President last week, praising Beijing for its success in containing the novel coronavirus.

KCNA quoted Mr. Xi as saying that Mr. Kim’s letter demonstrated the solid foundation of the Sino-Korean traditional friendship and its extraordinary vitality.
