Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, said that in response to a movement launched by the Prime Minister, employees across the banking system contributed at least one day's salary each. Their total donations of nearly 3.3 million USD have joined efforts in eliminating 1,000 makeshift and dilapidated houses.
Do Van Chien, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said: “We are deeply moved to receive this contribution from officials and staff in the banking sector to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, a program launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
