According to security and medical officials, one bomb exploded on a main commercial street in the Mashtal area of east Baghdad, and the other exploded on a similar road in the Amriyah area of west Baghdad. There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for multiple car bombings in Baghdad in recent weeks. Baghdad suffers near-daily bombings and shootings that kill hundreds of people each month.
