Mr. Dung said at the opening ceremony on Sunday:

“The Ministry of Transport and investors should complete other projects as soon as possible to connect the whole region. State regulations must be strictly abided by in managing, using, and maintaining the expressway. The Ministry of Transport must work with agencies to finalize preparations for the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang expressway connecting Hanoi with the Huu Nghi international border gate.”

The expressway will cut travel time from Hanoi to Lang Son province to 2.5 hours and ease traffic congestion on National Highway 1. The 520 million USD expressway connects Bac Giang province, 45 kilometers northeast of Hanoi, with Lang Son province, which borders China.
