The organizers received a total of 325 entries in the categories of reportage, photo collections, and radio and TV programs. The works conveyed the message: “Ensuring sustainable poverty reduction not only means giving poor households enough food to eat, but ensuring they have equal access to basic social services and meeting minimum needs for health, education, housing, clean water, and sanitation, and information." At the awards ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue praised participating press agencies and journalists. He said: “In order to attract more participants for the contest in 2020, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association should direct the central press agencies and localities to strengthen communication on poverty reduction as well as on the contest to attract more reporters and editors.”
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Hue urged people to send messages of support for the poor through Portal 1408.
The Voice of Vietnam won 4 prizes: 1 A prize, 1 Prize B, 1 Prize C and 1 Consolation Prize. The contest was launched by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.
