At a meeting with the business community of New South Wales on Friday, Thanh said the two countries are strategic partners and will upgrade this relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023.
At the event, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia introduced to Australian businesses the national list of projects calling for investment approved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh last November.
Graham Kinder, Vice President of the Australia-Vietnam Business Council, said Australian businesses see a lot of investment opportunities in all areas in Vietnam.
"The great advantages is the policies of the Vietnamese government that have been specifically designed to encourage international trade and investment in Vietnam where the government is so supportive of business development. It makes life much easier for businessmen to invest than in many other nations around South East Asia in particular and the growth of opportunities that it offers excess those that we find elsewhere in the world," he said.
Troy Harvey, New South Wales’s Director of Health Infrastructure Project, said that Vietnam is one of the markets New South Wales is targeting and believes the relationship between New South Wales and Vietnam will grow stronger.
“I think the opportunity for international trade and investment are really strong. Today we find a numbers of opportunities between Australia and Vietnam, which are quite interesting and certainly from my point of view those are the significant opportunities that we are looking forward,” Harvey said.
