The leaders said in a joint statement to mark the third AUKUS anniversary that given the increasingly close bilateral defense partnerships between the Republic of Korea, Canada, and New Zealand with each of AUKUS members, the leaders of the three AUKUS states are in talks with these countries to identify potential collaboration on advanced capabilities under AUKUS Pillar II.

AUKUS is a trilateral defense agreement between Australia, the UK, and the US. It has two elements: delivering conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarines to Australia and collaborating on high-tech sectors such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and hypersonics.
