"Golden Universe: Nuclear Astrophysics and Cosmic Rays in the Multi-messenger Era" and "2022 SAGI Astrophysics Workshop on New Frontiers of Astrophysics in the Golden Era of Dust Polarimetry" are both underway at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE).

At these events, scientists are examining research results on a number of very high energy phenomena in the universe, including gamma-ray astronomy, cosmic rays, and nuclear fusion.

The same day, the Simons Astrophysics Group at ICISE (SAGI) was launched under the sponsorship of the Simons Foundation and Vietnamese-American astrophysicists including Dr. Nguyen Trong Hien who works for NASA, Dr. Hoàng Chí Thiêm of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and Dr. Nguyễn Lương Quang of American University.

The Simons Foundation, one of the largest charitable organizations in the US, makes grants in mathematics, the physical sciences, the life sciences, autism research, and education and outreach.

Dr. Hien, head of the ICISE astrophysics research team, said, “The group supports cooperation in astrophysics research between domestic and foreign scientists, acting as a bridge to help overseas Vietnamese scientists to participate in studies in Vietnam. In the future, we’ll organize training programs on building instruments and machines to observe the sky and promote science to the public.”
