(VOVWORLD) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has emphasized the importance of implementing the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP).

Addressing Friday’s press conference after the 32nd ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC32) in Jakarta, Retno Marsudi said that the AOIP will focus on four priorities - connectivity, maritime, economy, and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In particular, Indonesia - as the ASEAN Chair 2023 - will develop a specific list of projects to implement the AOIP involving all ASEAN partners.

Initiated by Indonesia and agreed in 2019, AOIP affirms ASEAN's role and position in maintaining peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region including Asia, Pacific and Indian Ocean.
