ASEAN solidarity and unity are of strategic values

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and other ASEAN ministers attended the 20th ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC-20) Council Meeting and the 24th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC-24) on Saturday in Bangkok as part of the 35th ASEAN Summit.

At the APSC-20, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said in the rapid and complicated world development context, the strengthening of ASEAN solidarity and unity continue to hold strategic values and pave the way for the ASEAN success in the future. The ASEAN should improve its active adjustment to new opportunities and challenges, especially those of the Industry 4.0.

At the ACC-24, the Vietnamese leader believed that the ASEAN should work harder to build trust and dialogues and facilitate negotiation towards the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) by promoting commonly recognized values, principles and behavioral standards in the region in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
