The event marked the official presence of the sports delegations representing 11 Southeast Asian participating countries. The Vietnam Sports Delegation, led by Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Hong Minh, joined 10 other delegations to the ceremony.

The 12 ASEAN Para Games will open on Saturday and will run for one week in Phnom Penh, with 2.600 people participating, including 1,400 athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries.

They will compete in 13 sports: track-and-field, badminton, boccia, chess, five-a-side football, seven-a-side football, judo, weightlifting, swimming, table tennis, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and ESports.
