This year’s meeting will revolve around the theme of opportunities and challenges to ASEAN social security systems amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the free movement of labour.

“I am very impressed with the conference theme this year. The just-concluded WEF ASEAN 2018 was a great forum for discussing the opportunities and challenges posed by Fourth Industrial Revolution. Starting from a variety of perspectives, we all agreed on addressing the challenges posed by this revolution to ensure that all nations have the opportunity to rise and never lose sight of the importance of making people the center of development,” Deputy Prime Minister of Vu Duc Dam said at the opening ceremony. 

Representatives of 20 social organizations from 10 ASEAN countries, as well as representatives of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the International Labor Organization (ILO), and the World Bank (WB) attended the event.
