Colonel Tuyen said during the sixth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Drug Matters (AMMD-6) in Hanoi on Thursday, delegates approved an ASEAN Declaration opposing the legalization of controlled narcotic substances apart from medical and scientific purposes and calling on the international community to abide by the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, which is considered the foundation of the global drug control system. Colonel Tuyen said that documents approved at AMMD-6 will guide all future regional drug control activities and drug enforcement cooperation.
