This has been the second effort to end the conflict which has killed hundreds of people.

The announcement followed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s phone call with his Armenian and Azerbaijan counterparts, in which he stressed the need to strictly commit to the previous ceasefire agreement agreed in Moscow. The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the foreign ministers stressed the importance of starting practical discussions to resolve the conflict.

Armenia and Azerbaijan on October 10 agreed to a humanitarian ceasefire brokered by Russia, but then accused each other of violating the agreement.
