Among the attendees were students and members of the leftist Party Nuevo Encuentro, who showed their keen interest in Vietnam’s history, tradition, and recent socio-economic achievements.

President of the Institute Poldi Sosa said the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, were great turning-points in the history of the Vietnamese nation, opening a new period for national liberation struggles all over the world. He added the events provide great encouragement for colonized nations and oppressed people to rise up to fight for national independence, democracy, and social advancement. Professor Ezequiel Ramoneda, Coordinator of the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies at the La Plata University, reviewed Vietnam’s struggles against foreign invaders and achievements in the current period of international integration, including Vietnam’s contributions to the development of ASEAN.
