In a message to the government and people of Vietnam on 45 years of Vietnam joining the UN, September 20, Guterres thanked Vietnam for its cooperation and support for the United Nations’ efforts in addressing global challenges.

He hailed the partnership between the United Nations and Vietnam and said he hopes this partnership would be further strengthened to promote peace, sustainable development and human rights worldwide.
