According to the decision, Major Long of the High Command of Military Region 7 will serve as a Military Observer at MINUSCA.

Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien asked Major Long to strictly observe the discipline of the Vietnam People’s Army, UN regulations, local laws and regulations, while maintaining military discipline throughout the mission. This will demonstrate professionalism and competence, helping to further promote Vietnam’s image and the reputation of the Vietnam People’s Army globally, Chien said.

Vietnam has so far deployed 1,100 full-time personnel to UN peacekeeping operations as individuals and units.
